Backbeat Tours has teamed up with the Spirit of Memphis to talk great about the City of Memphis! At Backbeat Tours, we've always believed that Memphis has a great downtown, and our tours are designed to show visitors and residents alike what makes Memphis a truly special city.  All of our tours feature live music -- our tour guides are local entertainers -- as a way of bringing the city and its rich cultural history to life, especially its musical heritage. When you hear “tour,” the natural inclination is to think “tourist.”  But our tours are not just for visitors.  In fact, when most local residents take our tour (and many do), they are surprised about how rich and varied our city’s history is.  I doubt many residents can get off our bus without having an improved opinion of our great city. That’s why we’d like to offer all residents of the Greater Memphis area (Shelby, DeSoto, and Crittenden Counties) FREE tickets on our Memphis Mojo Tour, not just on “Favorite Music” day on Thursday, but throughout the entire Spirit of Memphis weekend. Tour times for the free Memphis Mojo Tours are as follows:Thursday, April 8:  5:30pm, Friday, April 9:  2:30pm, Saturday, April 10:  2:30pm, Sunday, April 11:  1:30pm. All tours will depart from the Backbeat Tours ticket window at Blues City Cafe, on the corner of Beale and Second Streets downtown (140 Beale St.). We’d also like to offer half-price tickets ($7.50) on our Memphis Ghost Tour, an evening walking tour that presents a quirkier side of Memphis history.  Tour times for the Memphis Ghost Tour are 7:30pm on Thursday, April 8 through Sunday, April 11.

The Lipscomb & Pitts Breakfast Club, along with two sponsoring members, Vaco and Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance, have teamed with Shelby Farms Park and Corky's Ribs & BBQ to present the Spirit of Memphis - Give Back Lunch.  This event will be held on Friday, April 9th from 11:00am-1:00pm at Shelby Farms Park, in the large, adjoining picnic shelters numbered 1 and 3.   The idea is that we are all coming together to provide a FREE lunch to business leaders, as we celebrate the Spirit of Memphis - the three day pep-rally for the City, which celebrates what makes Memphis great.  Since Friday, April 9th is "Food" themed, we thought it was only appropriate to serve some famous Memphis BBQ and put our Breakfast Club spin on it by making it a give back, in the process. So, as a fun give back, all we ask is that attendees donate whatever you would normally spend on lunch to Shelby Farms Park Conservancy.  Only cash and checks made payable to "Shelby Farms Park Conservancy" will be accepted.  All proceeds for the event will benefit Shelby Farms.   This is going to be a tremendously fun event, but in order to keep it manageable, space is limited to only the first 250 RSVPs on a first come, first serve basis. Come and Spread the Spirit at Shebly Farms Farms!

Baker Donelson & First Tennessee are hosting a joint private event.  It will be a picnic pep rally with King Cotton hot dogs, Brim's potato chips (another Memphis staple) - and of course, buns from
